Sometimes it seems there is so much theater happening that it's difficult to keep track of it all. From personal experience, despite all the datebooks, smart phones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops...it's hard to keep everything straight in this wacky business of the show.

Nashville Children's Theatre Announces 2016-17 Season

Nashville Children's Theatre (NCT) this morning announces its 85th Anniversary season. Since 1931, NCT has been leading the way in providing professional theatre to young audiences. As the oldest professional children's theatre in the nation, NCT is proud to continue its mission to provide extraordinary theatrical experiences to youth, families and adults.

Brewer, Tarleton Named Interim Leaders at NCT

Nashville Children's Theatre (NCT)  today announces the appointments of longtime Nashville arts leaders Dan Brewer and Bennett Tarleton as Acting Artistic Director and Interim Managing Director, respectively. Brewer and Tarleton will steer NCT through its management transition as the theatre enters into a nation-wide search to fill the recently vacated executive management positions. 

Scot Copeland Always Had a Story to Tell

In September, 2010, Scot Copeland - who joined Nashville Children's Theatre as producing artistic director in 1985 - did an interview ahead of his induction among the very first Class of First Night Honorees and we are happy to share some 'Scot stories,' straight from the horse's mouth as it were, as part of our continued remembrance of the vital role he has filled in our theater community for more than 30 years and in honor of his abiding friendship and astounding imaginative leadership of our creative community.

Nashville Children's Theatre's SCOT COPELAND Dies

Scot Copeland, longtime producing artistic director of Nashville Children's Theatre and one of the world's leading proponents of theater for younger audiences, died during the overnight hours of February 25 from an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Rene Dunshee Copeland, producing artistic director of Nashville Repertory Theatre, his two sons, many family members and countless 'chosen family' and friends all over the world.

The Kennedy Center and Nashville Children's Theatre present the world premiere musical production of Jack's Tale: A Mythic Mountain Musical Adventure February 14 and 15 in the Family Theater. Co-commissioned by the Kennedy Center and Nashville Children's Theatre, the production features a book by Scot Copeland, music by Paul Carrol Binkley, lyrics by Paul Carrol Binkley and Scot Copeland, and direction by Scot Copeland. Jack's Tale opens at Nashville Children's Theatre on Thursday, February 19, running through March 8.
