The Hangar Theatre Company will present its lively summer theatre series for young audiences, KIDDSTUFF, from June 13 to July 25, 2020. All will be presented live and virtually. Each show will be directed by Hangar Drama League Directing Fellow alumni, and performed by the 2020 Virtual Lab Company, a troupe of rising artists from across the nation.

In response to the cancellation their live season, the Cherry Artists' Collective announced a brand-new work of international streaming theater: FELT SAD, POSTED A FROG (and other streams of global quarantine). This new work has been created specifically for live-streamed performance in a collaboration with six theater writers from around the world

The Cherry Artists' Collective announces the commission of a new work of live streaming theater exploring life under pandemic quarantine, co-written by seven brilliant collaborating writers from around the world. The as-yet-untitled work will première in early May.

Immigrant Artists and Scholars in New York (IASNY) Playwrights Across Borders plan to celebrate Women Artists History Month at the storied Nuyorican Poets Café (236 East 3rd ST. Civic Ensemble Artistic Director and co-founder Godfrey L. Simmons, Jr. has announced that he will be stepping down from his position at Civic Ensemble, an ensemble-based, community driven theater company founded in 2012. After seven years with Civic Ensemble, Simmons will depart in December to become Artistic Director of HartBeat Ensemble in Hartford, CT. HartBeat is one of Hartford's most important cultural institutions, dedicated to creating provocative theater that connects to the community beyond the traditional barriers of class, race, geography and gender.

The Hangar Theatre Company continues its KIDDSTUFF season with the world premiere of Unicorn Girl by award-winning playwright and Ithaca College professor Saviana Stanescu. Directed by Sharifa Elkady, Unicorn Girl will be presented from Thursday, July 25, through Saturday, July 27, with two performances each day at 10 am and 12 noon.

The Hangar Theatre Company continues their KIDDSTUFF season with Jack and The Beanstalk by Marjorie Sokoloff, with performances Thursday July 11 through Saturday July 13 at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. 

The 2ND ANNUAL ITHACA ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to Ithaca for its second year, in partnership with the Kitchen Theatre Company. The 2nd Annual Ithaca One-Minute Play Festival runs for three performances only; July 13th at 8pm, and July 14th at 3pm & 7pm. All performances are at the Kitchen Theatre (417 W StateMLK, Jr. St). San Francisco Playhouse (Artistic Director Bill English; Producing Director Susi Damilano) announced casting for the final show of its 2017-18 Sandbox Series-the world premiere of Washed Up on the Potomac, written by Lynn Rosen. Jose Zayas will direct.

Civic Ensemble completes this year's Civic Acts repertory with a World Premiere of Saviana Stanescu's Bee Trapped Inside The Window opening tonight at 8:30pm at the Black Box Theatre @ LACS, 111 Chestnut Street, Ithaca NY. Stanescu's play, a Civic Commission, is a meditation on loneliness, identity and complicity that examines modern day domestic slavery's impact on the lives of three ethnically diverse women in the leafy suburbs of Connecticut. The production, directed by the actor/director Vernice P. Miller (All God's Chillun Got Wings), features Janilya Baizack, Sarah K. Chalmers (Slashes of Light), and Erin Lockett.
