Curtain Up! BroadwayWorld Shines a Spotlight on 2014's New Plays

Only on Broadway it is normal to spot Walter White and Harry Potter within blocks of each other. That's right, this season's stunning slate of plays has brought with it a slew of stars from Bryan Cranston to Daniel Radcliffe, Audra McDonald to James Franco, Tyne Daly to Denzel Washington. In just weeks, a whole new group of productions will have officially opened- adding ten new plays to the Broadway roster.
Ranging form literary classics to brand new works, this spring's new plays include: A Raisin in the Sun, Act One, All the Way, Casa Valentina, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Mothers and Sons, Of Mice and Men, The Realistic Joneses, and The Velocity of Autumn.

Bay City Players announces the cast for the comedy, 'Harvey' by Mary Chase. The cast will feature John Tanner (Elwood Dowd), Sarah Greene (Veta), Jordan Finn (Sanderson), Mike Olk (Dr. Chumley), Jeff Molby (Judge Gaffney), Rachel Farley (Nurse Kelly), Shannon Bargeron (Myrtle Mae), Tim Barnes (Wilson), Peggy Anderson (Betty), Lori Tomkinson (Mrs. Chauvenet), Melissa Tomkinson (Miss Johnson), and Greg Burke (Cab Driver). Pam Barnes and Judy Harper are directing the production and Susan Ross is the producer.

Daniel Radcliffe won Best Actor in a Play at London's WhatsOnStage Awards yesterday, for his performance in the Michael Grandage Company production of THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, by Martin McDonagh. Director Michael Grandage also won Best Director for his company's inaugural season of work, including THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN.

The Michael Grandage Company production of THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, by Martin McDonagh, starring Daniel Radcliffe and the critically acclaimed West End cast, directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Grandage, will open on Broadway during the afternoon of Sunday, April 20at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street).
