The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Gretchen Margaroli present the new musical The Tenth Floor with music & lyrics by J. Sebastian Fabal and book by Sara Cooper. Directed by Igor Goldin, with music direction by Mark T Evans and choreography by Sue Delano, the cast features Farah Alvin as Georgia Jones, Gilbert L. Bailey, II as Clayton, Micahel Kostroff as Josh, Justin Gregory Lopez as Victor, Doreen Montalvo as Fantasy Mama, and Jeffrey Nunez as Cheche with Judah Gavra, Samantha Gershman, Jordan Grubb, and Rebecca Riker.
NYMF Announces 2010 Full Slate Of Musicals, Readings, Special Events

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the full slate of 27 musical productions, a developmental reading series and special events for their seventh annual festival. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2010 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Twelve of the Festival's full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project.
Weston Playhouse Hosts Artist Retreat

The award-winning Weston Playhouse Theatre (WPTC) will host its third annual Artists Retreat from April 25 to May 2, bringing a diverse and noteworthy group of theatre artists to its home in Vermont to work on their latest projects. The 2010 participants include playwrights Sharon Bridgforth, Sarah Hammond and Susan Mosakowski, and musical teams Randy Blair and Timothy Michael Drucker, and Zach Redler and Sara Cooper.

Inspired by the JAMSS Project, in which school children sent flower seeds into space, MUSE: Multicultural Sonic Evolution has created an evening that melds science and art through children, flowers, space, and the mysteries of the solar system. The Seed by Molly McQue and Katya Stanislavskaya, Stars Through A Telescope by Laren Epsenhart and Yui Kitamura, Jade Rabbit by Kat Harris and Hailey Chang, and The Opposite of the Dark by Sara Cooper and Yui Kitamura will have their world premiere on April 25th at Queens Botanical Gardens.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) and Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the writers for the Songwriters Showcase, which will be Co-hosted by David Zippel & Dee Hoty as well as additional casting for the eight musicals in the 21st Annual Festival of New Musicals at New World Stages (340 West 50th St) on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
