Art on theMART, the world's largest digital art projection, will host the third installment of its Facebook livestream series on Wednesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. CT. This program was originally projected onto the façade of theMART in the summer of 2019.

The Chicago Park District today announced the second playwright to be selected for a developmental partnership as part of Theater on the Lake: In the Works. Tina Fakhrid-Deen and her play in development, Dandelions, will receive two staged readings and a developmental production presented during the 2020 summer season. The first staged reading is scheduled for December 16 at 7 p.m., at Mandrake Park, 3858 S Cottage Grove, in the Bronzeville neighborhood. The reading is free and open to the public.

Artistic Director Robert Falls announces an update to Goodman Theatre's 2019/2020 Season. The Chicago premiere of School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play by Jocelyn Bioh, directed by Lili-Anne Brown, originally scheduled for the Owen Theatre, will move into the 856-seat Albert Theatre; the Falls-directed major revival of Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel, originally scheduled for the Albert Theatre, will move into the 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre.

Collaboraction Theatre Company will present Book of Peace, a specially curated collection of 15 short pieces of theater, dance and spoken word from Collaboraction's deep history of producing work from artist-activists who have been underrepresented in Chicago mainstream media, Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5, in front of Cloud Gate (aka a?oeThe Beana??) in Millennium Park.

The Jeff Awards will honor Teatro Vista with the 2019 Special Equity Jeff Award at the Equity Ceremony at Drury Lane Oakbrook on October 21, 2019. Goodman Theatre announces a line-up of free readings written by members of its Playwrights Unit-a year-long residency for Chicago-based writers to develop their plays-in-progress with the Goodman's artistic team, in partnership with Chicago Dramatists. La Havana Madrid, Chicago Latinx playwright and actor Sandra Delgado's smash hit, all-immersive play with music inspired by true stories of a 1960's Chicago Latinx nightclub, will be extended one week at the Den Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Wicker Park.
