CMT Pledges 50/50 Video Airplay For Female Artists

Today, CMT announced that it will institute 50/50 video airplay for female artists on both CMT and CMT Music channels, effective immediately. The news was shared this morning by @CMT on Twitter. See the tweet below! Out of the full 29-hour primetime video hours across platforms, female are guaranteed to account for half, an increase from the 40/60 ratio.

Earlier this month, Samantha Bee and her team at Full Frontal travelled to the protest-filled region to explore two main questions: what the F@$% is going on there and what the H#%& is the solution? To answer these questions, Bee interviewed an array of locals from pro-democracy university students to pro-Trump MAGA-wearing protesters, VR developers, and a historian from the Tai O village through both formal interviews and on-the-street reporting. Usually, Full Frontal only contains one field piece per episode, but the subject of Hong Kong is so complex and fascinating that it will include a special double field piece.

A special Sunday original telecast of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has topped the late-night talk-show week of Oct. 14-18 in adults 18-49 and total viewers, while Monday-through-Friday encore telecasts have led those nights in 18-49 over a mostly original week of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and rebroadcasts of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

Brett Weitz Named General Manager of TBS, TNT, and Now truTV

Kevin Reilly, President, TBS, TNT, and truTV, and Chief Content Officer, HBO Max today announced that Brett Weitz, general manager of TBS & TNT will now also take on oversight of truTV, reporting to him. Weitz will manage all three networks and oversee the creative executive teams and development for all three networks in New York and Los Angeles. Concurrently, Thom Hinkle has been upped to head of original content for all three networks.
