Rufus Hound To Star In NEVILLE'S ISLAND At Chichester

The National Theatre's international smash-hit comedy One Man, Two Guvnors, which has now been seen by over 1 million people worldwide, this week celebrates its third year in London with an additional 150 000 new tickets released for sale today taking bookings at the Theatre Royal Haymarket through to 1 March 2014.

Forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include plays familiar, rare and new: Shakespeare's Othello, Gorky's Children of the Sun,James Baldwin's The Amen Corner;Marlowe's Edward II, Pirandello's Liola, Eugene O'Neill's Strange Interlude and Georg Kaiser's From Morning to Midnight. Tori Amos and Samuel Adamson's musical The Light Princess will premiere in October, and there will be a new adaptation of Emil and the Detectives for family audiences at Christmas.

From 4 February Rufus Hound leads the new cast in Nicholas Hytner's five star West End production of Richard Bean's One Man, Two Guvnors as loveable chancer Francis Henshall, he is joined by Sam Alexander (Stanley Stubbers), Ian Burfield (Charlie Clench), Amy Cudden (Rachel Crabbe), Harry Kershaw (Alan Dangle), Kelly Price (Dolly) and Hugh Sachs (Harry Dangle). Martin Barrass (Alfie), David Benson (Gareth), Rhona Croker (Pauline) and Derek Elroy (Lloyd Boateng) continue in the production and Mensah Bediako, Owen Brazendale, Gillian Budd, Max Hutchinson, Tom Lorcan, Aimee Parkes and Claire Sundin complete the ensemble. As previously announced, Rufus Hound will take the lead as loveable chancer Francis Henshall. He will join new cast members Sam Alexander, Ian Burfield, Amy Cudden, Harry Kershaw, Kelly Price and Hugh Sachs. Martin Barrass will return to the production to play Alfie, and current cast members David Benson, Rhona Croker and Derek Elroy will continue. Artistic Directors Steve Marmion and Max Roberts today announce the full cast for their joint new writing project UTOPIA, which is making its world premiere at Live Theatre on Thursday 31 May, before transferring to Soho Theatre on Wednesday 20 June, with opening night on Thursday 21 June. UTOPIA will star: Tobi Bakare (Greenland National Theatre; Crawling In The Dark Almeida Theatre and Gone Too Far, Royal Court Theatre); Laura Elphinstone (Top Girls, Chichester Festival Theatre/Trafalgar Studios; A Month in the Country, Chichester Festival Theatre and the film adaptation of The History Boys); Rufus Hound making his theatre debut, is most well-known for his regular team captainship on Argumental, Celebrity Juice, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Never Mind The Buzzc*cks; Pamela Miles (Darker Shores, Hampstead Theatre; Pygmalion, Theatre Royal Bath/Old Vic London and Lone Star Mark Three, Salisbury Playhouse); also making her stage debut Sophia Myles who is most well-known for her leading roles in film and TV including Tristan and Isolde and Spooks and David Whitaker one of the founders of Live Theatre, Newcastle, his theatre credits include The Pitmen Painters (Live Theatre/National Theatre/Broadway and West End) plus extensive credits for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Donmar Warehouse.

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Celebrity Autobiography made its UK debut at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival from August 5 - 30 with a cast featuring Michael Urie, Caroline Rhea, Jennifer Coolidge, Mike McShane, James Lance, Phill Jupitus, Rufus Hound and George Wendt. Today, Whatsonstage.com reports that Michael Urie will transfer with the show for its London debut at the Leicester Square Theatre on October 4, 2010. The show will play through October 9, 2010 at the theater and then run continuously every Monday through January 10, 2011.
