Below, BroadwayWorld brings you a look at some of the upcoming plays and musicals from The Public, Classic Stage, Atlantic Theater, Second Stage, Manhattan Theatre Club, Signature Theatre, Roundabout, the Encores! series and more, currently slated to open off-Broadway in 2016!

Broadway World has confirmed that MCC THEATER, in association with Kurt Deutsch, President of Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records, will hold an invite-only workshop presentation of the new musical Alice by Heart, the latest collaboration from Tony and Grammy winning Spring Awakening composers Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater. 

Robin Tunney (CBS's THE MENTALIST) and Julia Garner (GRANDMA) will join Zachary Quinto for MCC Theater's produciton of SMOKEFALL in 2016.

MARSHA MASON is set to direct a closed reading of a new play A FUTURE PERFECT by Ken Urban on March 5th at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre.

As part of a year-round strategy of more original programming and fewer repeats, CBS announced today the season premiere dates of THE MENTALIST and UNDERCOVER BOSS.

Seacoast Repertory Theatre has announced that it's award winning film series, Let's 'B' Reel, will get a 'witchy' facelift for the month of October with 3 unique and interactive film screenings, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Portsmouth Halloween Parade. The 'Let's 'B' Witched' screenings also mark the one year anniversary of Let's 'B' Reel. Each week from October 8th-October 22nd The Rep will offer up a cult movie focusing on the horror subgenre of witches and witchcraft. Each will feature a unique and hilarious pre-show provided by hosts Timothy Fife and Bunny Wonderland (Knate Higgins).

With Alan Cumming and Michelle Williams currently starring in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of 'Cabaret' on the Great White Way, Reel 13 broadcasts Bob Fosse's Oscar-winning movie version. The legendary Broadway director and choreographer brought him and star Liza Minnelli Academy Awards. In fact, the 1972 film still holds the record for most Oscar wins in a single year without winning the 'Best Picture' category, copping eight in all. (The Godfather received that prize.)

CBS announced today the storylines for its 2013-1014 series' season finales, which include exciting cliffhangers, big reveals and dramatic conclusions.

FEARNET is dishing out some good old-fashioned Revenge this month, with Park Chan-wook's (STOKER) critically acclaimed 'Vengeance Trilogy,' tonight, February 6, featuring network premieres of OLDBOY, SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE, and SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE. For these three characters, the best Revenge isn't living wellit's making sure their enemies don't live at all.

Paris Photo Los Angeles concluded Sunday with genuine excitement over the inaugural United States edition of the renowned Paris fair for artworks in the photographic medium. On THE MENTALIST's upcoming episode, titled 'Red John's Rules,' just as Jane narrows down the Red John suspect list to seven, Red John strikes at a victim with links to Jane's past, on the fifth season cliffhanger finale of THE MENTALIST, Sunday, May 5 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. Laura San Giacomo guest stars as social worker Miriam Gottlieb.

On THE MENTALIST's upcoming episode, titled 'Red and Itchy,' J.J. LaRoche personally requests Jane's help when the mysterious container he's been hiding for nine years is stolen from his home, on Sunday, April 28 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. Pruitt Taylor Vince returns as J.J. LaRoche.

On THE MENTALIST's upcoming episode, titled 'Red Velvet Cupcakes,' Rigsby and Van Pelt go undercover as a couple with relationship problems to investigate the death of a woman who received advice from a radio love doctor, on Sunday, April 21 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.

On THE MENTALIST's upcoming episode, titled 'Red Letter Day,' the CBI team heads out to a run-down Wild West tourist town when the owner is found dead. Meanwhile, Kirkland tries to find out how much Jane knows about Red John, on THE MENTALIST, Sunday, April 14 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
