Robert Mann Gallery Presents 'Jennifer Williams: The High Line Effect'
by Christina Mancuso - Nov 27, 2013

In The High Line Effect, Jennifer Williams' massive photo-collages envelop the gallery with bold, architectural interpretations of the High Line and surrounding environs. Alongside these immersive installations, Robert Mann Gallery is pleased to present another body of Williams' unconventional photographic work. In her small, framed pieces, the artist photographs and cuts out images of commonplace objects like boxes, wood, and rugs, layering multiple prints to create three-dimensional relief collages. By coaxing illusions of texture and space, these unique, handmade works re-imagine the prototypical 'beautiful photograph' through inspired elevations of the everyday.

by Nicole Rosky - Jul 17, 2013

Robert Mann Gallery has just announced the representation of Jennifer Williams. Robert Mann Gallery Presents HOT SUMMER, COOL JAZZ: The Photographs of Herman Leonard, Now thru 8/23
by BWW News Desk - Jul 11, 2013

In the summer, synesthesia abounds. Sunblock smells like the surf on skin, blueberries taste like a blanket in the grass, and the solo of a saxophone sounds like a breeze on a sweltering night. In this sense the photographs of Herman Leonard are double-inscriptions, both acute visualities of jazz's luminary musicians and emotive mimeses of sensation, sound, and atmosphere. With its summer exhibition Hot Summer, Cool Jazz: The Photographs of Herman Leonard, Robert Mann Gallery presents a euphonic ensemble of the artist's seminal images that capture, in dulcet tones and reverberating contrapositions, the coolest cast of characters around.
