SAN FRANCISCO, July 20, 2015 – The Merola Opera Program's Summer Festival concludes with its 2015 artists performing in the Merola Grand Finale Saturday, August 22 at 7:30 pm at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco. Conductor Antony Walker will lead the orchestra and 2015 Merola Apprentice Stage Director Mo Zhou will stage the program, featuring works by Gounod, Bellini, Tchaikovsky, Jake Heggie, Nikolai, Verdi, Rossini, Humperdinck, Mascagni, and Offenbach. The performance is a culmination of the 12-week Merola Opera training program, and all 23 of the 2015 Merola singers will perform, under the coaching and direction of their fellow artists. A special artists' reception follows the Grand Finale (tickets sold separately).

The first ever cast recording of the critically-acclaimed musical PAGEANT is now available digitally and on compact disc via select outlets. The cast of the recent revival - nominated for a 2015 Drama Desk Award for Best Revival of a Musical and a 2015 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical Revival - just reunited to launch the Original Cast Recording at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) last night, and BroadwayWorld was there for the special night.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Over 400 guests including current and past New York City high school students, and the performing arts professional mentors who have participated in TDF's Open Doors, the theatre arts mentoring program that TDF founded in 1998 with playwright Wendy Wasserstein, will attend this year's graduation at 5:30pm on Monday, June 1 at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College (524 West 59th Street, NYC).   TDF's Open Doors was the first arts education program to receive a special Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre when it received the special honor in 2012. This year, Open Doors had 30 mentors working with 24 groups of students from New York City high schools.

According to an audition notice, Ryan Scott Oliver's DARLING -- a dark, sexy re-telling of Peter Pan -- is getting a developmental lab via WalkRunFly Productions after its January reading in New York City. The musical will run June 10 through July 1, 2015.

Only two days remain to help crowd-fund the proposed cast recording of Off-Broadway musical PAGEANT.

PAGEANT is a hit revival of the popular Off-Broadway musical billed as an 'all-male musical comedy beauty contest.' Cast member Seth Tucker recently made a humorous music video featuring backstage life, with the song 'Creep.'

Producers have announced that the limited engagement of PAGEANT will host a special Miss America night in honor of our nation's top beauty pageant, The 88th Annual Miss America Pageant, on Sunday, September 14. For the Sunday, September 14 at 7:30pm performance, all audience members, both male and female, who arrive in their best pageant attire will receive half-priced tickets, available on a first-come-first-served basis beginning one hour prior to curtain at The Davenport Theatre (354 West 45th Street).

PAGEANT has taken to Indiegogo to raise funds to record an Original Cast Album of the off-Broadway revival. This will be the first-ever cast recording of PAGEANT in its 23-year history. Watch their campaign video below!
