Deadline reports that 9-1-1: Lone Star has tapped Liv Tyler to star opposite Rob Lowe. This will be Tyler's first role on broadcast television.

John Wesley, actor known for parts in films such as 'Stop, Or My Mom Will Shoot', 'Martin' and 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' and the recent award-winning short film 'Second Acts' has died. He was 72.

 Comedy Central announced today that Ken Jeong, Nikki Glaser, Caroline Rhea, and Adam Carolla are joining the #BaldwinRoast lineup of insult slingers led by Roast Master Sean Hayes. Previously announced Roasters include Robert De Niro, Blake Griffin, Caitlyn Jenner, Chris Redd, and Jeff Ross.

Deadline reports that I Am Patrick Swayze, Paramount's latest in its I Am documentary series, averaged 1.1 million total viewers -- its biggest ratings ever for a special like this. 

Variety reports that NBC will adapt the classic 1980s film 'St. Elmo's Fire' for television. 

Comedy Central, the #1 brand in comedy, announced today that Robert De Niro, Blake Griffin, Caitlyn Jenner, Joel McHale, Debra Messing, Chris Redd, and Jeff Ross will join Roast Master Sean Hayes on the dais for the Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin. Additional Roasters and talent to attend will be announced shortly.

Top producer and executive Toby Gorman has been named President of Universal Television Alternative Studio. Gorman, who fills the role after Meredith Ahr was promoted last fall to President of NBC Entertainment's Alternative and Reality Group, will report into Ahr. As President of UTAS, Gorman will oversee key operations of the burgeoning studio, including development, domestic sales strategy and creative affairs across a diverse slate of unscripted programming. In addition, he will collaborate closely across all areas of production, casting, business affairs and international commercial development for the studio.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) presented $3.8 million at their annual Grants Banquet held at The Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, Calif. The evening was hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Talent who accepted grants on behalf of nonprofit organizations included Arnold Schwarzenegger, Taron Egerton, James Corden, Kerry Washington, Ali Wong, Regina Hall, Rob Lowe, Jamie Bell, Ramy Youssef, Corinne Fox, Sistine Stallone, Camila Morrone, Renée Zellweger, Eva Longoria, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jon Favreau, Justin Hartley, Ben Platt, Beanie Feldstein, Josh Lucas, Julia Butters, and Taika Waititi.

Producer Rick Murray welcomes actress and singer Linda Lavin back to Provincetown for two performances only, Monday, August 5 and Tuesday, August 6 at 8:00 p.m. at The Crown & Anchor's Paramount Theater. Also returning with Ms. Lavin is her music director, Billy Stritch.

 Paramount Network has joined forces with Network Entertainment to celebrate the life of legendary Hollywood figure Patrick Swayze for the  latest installment of the I Am documentary franchise. I Am Patrick Swayze will world premiere in the actor's home state at the San Antonio Film Festival on Friday, August 2, and will debut on Swayze's birthday, Sunday, August 18 at 9:00 p.m. ETPT on Paramount Network.  Patrick Swayze classics Ghost and Dirty Dancing will air leading into the documentary at 3:30 p.m. ETPT and 6:30 p.m. ETPT. 

Amazon Studios started principal photography on visionary director Mike Cahill's (I Origins, Another Earth) Bliss this week in Los Angeles and Croatia. Academy Award nominees Salma Hayek and Owen Wilson are set to star in this sci-fi drama also written by Cahill. Endgame Entertainment's James D. Stern is producing, with the company's Lucas Smith serving as executive producer. Marsha Swinton (Hala) will also executive produce.

Comedy Central is rolling out the red carpet for the illustrious and multitalented film, television and stage star Alec Baldwin. The #1 brand in comedy announced today that Baldwin will be this year's Roastee. The Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin (#BaldwinRoast) will take place in New York with the tape and airdate to be announced at a later date.

Charlie Collier, CEO, FOX Entertainment, today will unveil the FOX primetime slate for the 2019-2020 television season to the national advertising community during its annual Upfront Presentation at the Beacon Theatre.

FOX'S #1 drama, 9-1-1, expands its reach to the city of Austin, Texas, with new installment, 9-1-1: LONE STAR, starring Rob Lowe.  The series will premiere during the 2019-2020 season on FOX.
