Chicago Shakespeare Theater presents a one-night-only streaming event Toast to Shakespeare's Birthday! tomorrow, Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. Central Time.

DIANA KENNEDY: NOTHING FANCY will open nationwide on Friday, May 22nd as part of Greenwich Entertainment's virtual cinema partnership with theaters throughout the country.  50% of proceeds will go to local theaters to support them during this unprecedented time.

As Porchlight Music Theatre is set to launch its 25th Anniversary Season as Chicago's center for music theatre, it celebrated 24 years and announced its 25th Anniversary co-chairs at the 2019 ICONS Gala Sunday, March 31 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago, 160 E. Pearson. The 2019 ICONS GALA set a new attendance record with 300 guests in attendance and raised more funds that directly benefit Porchlight's artistic and educational programs than previous events. The elegant Gala Brunch, chaired by Tamara Sims, included performances from Chicago's leading talents celebrating the legendary career of Jerome Robbins, the presentation of The Luminary Award to Jean Klingenstein, introduced the 25th Anniversary chairs: RIck and Deann Bayless and Bill Kurtis and Donna La Pietra and silent and live auctions.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces new leadership positions. Joining Artistic Director Heidi Stillman and Executive Director Rachel L. Selected from a nationwide pool of entries by judges who are among public television's best known chefs, Kiya Schnorr from New York City, claims the Grand Prize, receiving $4,000 and production equipment valued at approximately $1,000 to finance and produce a web series of 10 two-minute videos to appear on CreateTV.com. Second Prize Winner, Kristina Vanni, also from New York City, was awarded $1,000 and production equipment valued at approximately $1,000 to finance and produce a web series of three, two-minute videos for CreateTV.com. Distributed and produced by APT, WNET New York and WGBH Boston, Create is a national channel carried by 238 local public television stations and features lifestyle content: cooking, travel, home improvement, gardening and arts & crafts.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces its complete 2018-2019 season lineup. The season begins with the World Premiere of The Steadfast Tin Soldier: A Christmas Pantomime, conceived and directed by Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman from the story by Hans Christian Andersen. Following The Steadfast Tin Soldier is the World Premiere of Act(s) of God written by Ensemble Member Kareem Bandealy and directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman.
