After six successful seasons producing some of the Triangle's best of the best on stage, Hot Summer Nights at the Kennedy is raising the bar once more; this time with lucky number seven where humor sets the stage to keep audiences in stitches and education gives them a chance to grow.

The Broadway world is abuzz with all things FOLLIES so it was perfect timing that this past Monday night, at Judith Ivey's home, the 2001 revival cast of FOLLIES got together 'to glamorize the old days, stumble through a song or two, and lie about ourselves...a little.' Ok, so there was no singing, but practically the entire cast got together to celebrate what was an amazing experience in their lives and the amazing family they considered ourselves back in 2001. Blogging about the experience was Broadway veteran Randy Slovacek, who gave us exclusive permission to run his memories of the night (and production). As an actor, Randy has appeared on Broadway in Follies, Chicago and Hello, Dolly!, as well as the National companies of A Chorus Line, Cats, 42nd Street, Chicago and Hello, Dolly!. In addition, Randy is a published writer with articles in prominent magazines and is the author of his own blog, 'The Randy Report.'

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the York Theatre (James Morgan, Artistic Director) is pleased to present an invitation-only showcase presentation entitled An Afternoon with Doug Cohen featuring the words and music of the 2010 Fred Ebb Award Winner. Featured in the presentation will be Heidi Blickenstaff, Bradley Dean, Tovah Feldshuh, Jackie Hoffman, Lauren Kennedy, Jeff McCarthy, Lindsay Roberts, Lance Rubin, Howie Michael Smith and Barbara Walsh.

Cohen on November 29. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys). Tony Award winner Michele Pawk is set for a reading of Joan Crawford In...'Flesh and Blood!', written by Joe Major. The event is invitation only, and will take place April 8 -9 in Manhattan. With direction by Richard Roland, the show features Liz McCartney (South Pacific), Marcus Neville (The Full Monty), Roger Rifkin (Early to Bed), Ed Romanoff (Hairspray), Graham Rowat (The Boys in the Band) and Sarah Stiles (Vanities).

Roundabout Theatre Company in association with Long Wharf Theatre opened Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, last night, March 24. Directed by Gordon Edelstein, the production stars Patch Darragh (Tom Wingfield), two-time Tony® Award winner Judith Ivey (Amanda Wingfield), Keira Keeley (Laura Wingfield), and Michael Mosley (Jim O'Connor). Performances began on Friday, March 5th, 2010 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre This will be a limited engagement through May 30th, 2010.
