The 11th annual New Stages Festival kicked off at Goodman Theatre on October 29. Appearing in repertory alongside FEATHERS AND TEETH is THE MAGIC PLAY by Andrew Hinderaker, a play that fuses magic and reality directed by Halena Kays; and CARLYLE by Thomas Bradshaw, an exploration of right-wing politics in America through the eyes of an African American Republican directed by Benjamin Kamine. Through the past five years, HAWAII FIVE-0 has often honored the original 'Hawaii Five-O' series with references to its predecessor hidden within the episodes. In celebration of the 100th episode that airs Friday, Nov. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), following is a list of those nods to the legendary original series hidden within the current one.

The New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) continue with a focus on Britten's The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, led by Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Joshua Weilerstein, today, February 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.

Christopher Fry's poetic flight of comic fancy about a witch-hunt and a world-weary veteran was an instant hit in 1949 London, in a country still reeling from the harsh realities of war. Jennet, an eccentric young woman accused of witchcraft and Thomas, the soldier in search of oblivion, confront each other and a world that seeks to destroy her, and their lives.

This is the first program in this season's series, Points of Entry, in which each concert explores facets of music and the orchestra itself through a single, influential score. The performance will feature the Manhattan School of Music Symphonic Chorus, Kent Tritle, director.
