Four New Alices Announced for National Ballet of Canada's ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERAND

Hope Muir has announced the cast of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by acclaimed choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. Making their debuts in the title role of Alice are First Soloist Jeannine Haller, Second Soloists Hannah Galway and Tirion Law and Corps de Ballet member Emerson Dayton.

Hope Muir, Joan and Jerry Lozinski Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, have announced that Mackenzie Brown (age 20) of Stuttgart Ballet and Daichi Ikarashi (age 21) of The Royal Ballet are the winners of The International Competition for The Erik Bruhn Prize. Roman Novitzky of Stuttgart Ballet is the winner of the Choreographic Prize for his specially commissioned work, A Dialog.

This past Wednesday, The National Ballet of Canada celebrated their 60th Anniversary with a gala event at The Four Seasons Centre for the Arts. The evening embraced a 'Diamond' theme, with gorgeous tutus on display throughout the centre showcasing designs from all over the world. Guests were invited to watch highlights from the Ballet's impressive repertoire and then had a gala dinner and dance on the stage of the Centre. Love Lies Bleeding is an all new ballet based on the music of Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and it opened last night at Toronto's Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. After a critically acclaimed run at the Alberta Ballet, the production comes to Toronto for a limited engagement thanks to David Mirvish who is presenting it in the city for the rest of the week.
