Broadway's Julie Halston, currently featured in the hit revival of Kaufman and Hart's You Can't Take It With You, will host the 5th Annual Broadway Belts for PFF! (Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation) on February 23 at 7:00pm at Birdland Jazz Club (315 West 44th Street) as part of 'Broadway at Birdland' series.

The Drama League Winter/Spring 2014 Programming Schedule recently presented its 'Up Close: A Conversation with…' Series with Broadway composer, Jason Robert Brown at the Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas) in Tribeca, on Monday, March 10, 2014 followed by a reception. On Monday night, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the long-awaited return of MONTGOMERY, MAYES & STRITCH, the vocal trio starring Sharon Montgomery, Sally Mayes and Billy Stritch. For the first time in 32 years, the trio dazzled the New York music scene with a packed house of fans and friends, including Liza Minnelli, Rex Reed, Klea Blackhurst, Jeff Harnar, Natalie Douglas and Bubba McNeeley. On Monday, February 25, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the third annual Broadway Belts for PFF, which raised over $70,000 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. The evening was hosted by Julie Halston, and starred Klea Blackhurst, Linda Lavin, Emily Bergl, Debbie Gravitte, Emma Hunton, Alyssa Paulsen, Robert Creighton, Max von Essen, John McDaniel, and Ed Watts. The show was directed by Carl Andress, with musical direction by Jesse Kissel.

Bay Street Theatre held its First Annual Honors Benefit last night with some of the biggest names of the stage and screen converging at the Manhattan Penthouse in New York City to honor Joy Behar, AdriAnne Cohen and John Downing, all members of Bay Street's Board of Trustees. Bay Street Theatre announces their First Annual Honors Benefit on Monday, April 30, with a special performance by Liza Minnelli. This spring fundraiser will be held at the Manhattan Penthouse, 80 5th Avenue in NYC beginning at 6 pm. Proceeds support the theatre's year round programming. Three of Bay Street's Board Members are to be honored.

With honors ranging from the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame to the Tony Awards, Broadway's best performers gathered last night, February 27, to raise awareness of the rare disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and honor the memory of Associated Press theater critic, Michael Kuchwara (today would have been Kuchwara's 65th Birthday). Hosted by award-winning actress and devoted Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) advocate Julie Halston, Broadway Belts for PFF! returned to Birdland in New York City for a second successful year. The event raised almost $50,000 to benefit the Foundation.
