Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production of Outside Mullingar, the new play by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, opened last night, January 23 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) in a strictly limited 11-week engagement. Seattle Shakespeare Kicks Off New Year with RICHARD II, Now thru 2/2

With recent airings on PBS via the BBC's 'Hollow Crown' series and a screening of the RSC production with David Tenant, the Puget Sound region has seen a mini-renaissance of Shakespeare's Richard II. Seattle Shakespeare Company starts the New Year with its own production of Richard II directed by Rosa Joshi. Artistic Director George Mount will play the title role in a cast that features 16 actors.

Great performers relive their terrible performances to benefit The Performing Arts Project. On Sunday, November 3rd at Joe's Pub, Steve Pasquale (The Bridges of Madison County, "Do No Harm", "Rescue Me") hosts an evening of fabulous performers sharing video of their most embarrassing moments onstage and then redeeming themselves by recreating that moment live on stage. Broadway musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell (Big Fish, The Addams Family) will serve as the music director for the evening, which includes participation by Pasquale, Hunter Bell ([title of show], Grinch), Susan Blackwell ([title of show], "Side By Side"), Peter Jacobson ('House'), Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, "Do No Harm"), Krysta Rodriguez (First Date, "Smash"), Jeremy Shamos (The Assembled Parties, Clybourne Park), Wesley Taylor (Little Miss Sunshine, 'Smash'), Betsy Wolfe (Last Five Years, Drood), and David Yazbek(The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) At the end of the evening, the audience will vote on the star performer who most redeemed themselves through their efforts that night. Golf Channel will air 20 hours of live, exclusive tournament coverage of the Tavistock Cup Monday and Tuesday, showcasing the top touring professional members of Albany, Isleworth Golf and Country Club, Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, Queenwood Golf Club, and newcomers Oak Tree National and Primland in match-play competition with both pride and the title of World Golf and Country Club Champion on the line.
