Peter Davison and Jill Halfpenny are to join Sheridan Smith, Duncan James, Alex Gaumond, Aoife Mulholland and Susan McFadden in Jerry Mitchell?s Legally Blonde The Musical which will preview at the Savoy Theatre from 5 December 2009. Currently booking until 23 May 2010, Legally Blonde The Musical has now added Sunday performances to its schedules. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning Jerry Mitchell, Legally Blonde The Musical has music and lyrics by Laurence O?Keefe and Nell Benjamin, book by Heather Hach, set design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Paul Miller, sound design by ACME Sound Partners and orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke.

Signature Theatre Announces 3 New Musical Commissions & 2 Awards; Recipients Include Guettel, Foley, Michelson, Miller & Richards

Eric Schaeffer, Artistic Director of the Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre, today announced that Signature Theatre is expanding its American Musical Voices Project (AMVP) for a fourth year with the commission and production of a new musical by Adam Guettel for its 2011-2012 season. Also announced as part of The Next Generation segment of the AMVP were two additional musical commissions awarded to Peter Foley and Marisa Michelson as well as honoree grants given to Chris Miller and Scott Davenport Richards for the development of future musical ideas. Signature, with the support of The Shen Family Foundation, has awarded $595,000 to artists in honors and commissions in the past three years. The American Musical Voices Project is the largest single musical theater commissioning and producing initiative at any non-profit theater in America.

Python fans are to be offered the opportunity to bid for iconic items from the hit West End musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT as the show concludes its run in the West End. Amongst the items up for auction are the Holy Grail which has adorned the front of the Palace Theatre since the show opened, the infamous killer rabbit with nasty pointy teeth, a Knight of Ni and French Taunter costume and in a paean to the expletive a 13 metres by 9.5 metres painted back cloth featuring the words ?Piss Off'.

Today, Sanjeev Bhaskar is confirmed as the last King of the Britons to perform at the Palace Theatre in the multi award-winning, record-breaking Monty Python's SPAMALOT. Bhaskar, who was due to end his run on 5 October, will now retain his throne until the show's final West End performance on Saturday 3 January 2009 at 8pm. In June this year Bhaskar was crowned as the new King Arthur, following in the footsteps of Tim Curry, Simon Russell Beale, Peter Davison and Alan Dale.

On Saturday, February 2 Nina Söderquist was crowned as the new Lady of the Lake for the hit West End Musical Monty Python's Spamalot. Having won TV3's 'West End Star,' going head to head with Linda Holmgren in the Swedish live TV final, Nina received over 59% of the votes from the viewing public declaring her the winner. Söderquist will have her first performance as The Lady of the Lake at the Palace Theatre on Monday February 11, 2008
