I've Been Played: Alysha Umphress Swings Jeff Blumenkrantz will be released on Yellow Sound Label in January 2015, featuring the vocals of Alysha Umphress, currently starring in the new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN, and original jazz songs and arrangements by Tony Award-nominated composer and performer Jeff Blumenkrantz. The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Broadway's Lindsay Mendez (currently Elphaba in Wicked) and pianist Marco Paguia on the historic stage on Sunday, July 21. In 2007, Lindsay Mendez made her Broadway Debut as Jan in a revival of GREASE. She has since returned to Broadway in Sherie Rene Scott's EVERYDAY RAPTURE in 2012, the GODSPELL's revival in 2011, and she is currently starring as Elphaba in WICKED. In addition to these Broadway roles, she got phenomenal reviews as Rose in Off-Broadway's DOGFIGHT at 2nd Stage Theatre Company in 2012. Furthermore, Lindsey Mendez is an accomplished jazz vocalist and has recorded the 13 track THIS TIME with pianist/band leader Marco Paguia. The album lavishly showcases their prowess as performers and their infectious musical chemistry.

On Monday, January 7, songwriting team Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich came together for the 13th Broadway at Birdland 'Marcy & Zina Show' musical extravaganza, co-starring their friends Scott Coulter, David Beach, Jill Abramovitz, Jennifer Jones, Christine Pedi and Noah Galvin. The band included Mike Croiter on drums, Clay Ruede on cello and Pete Donovan on bass.
