Deborah Karpel to Bring THE MIDWOOD MIRACLE To Bruno Walter Auditorium, 2/12

From a founder of the long running improvisational comedy group 'Shock of The Funny' to musical theatre, opera and performing in a Klezmer band, singer-songwriter, actress, playwright and opera aficionado Deborah Karpel, stages her autobiographical one woman show 'The Midwood Miracle' at the Bruno Walter Auditorium on February 12th and The Puffin Foundation on April 18th.

La MaMa presents the World Premiere of The Etiquette of Death, a Chris Tanner Production co-directed by Everett Quinton and Julie Atlas Muz, and choreographed by Julie Atlas Muz, with contributions by a slew of New York's finest downtown artists. The Etiquette of Death, the final show of La MaMa's 50th Anniversary season, runs now through July 1, 2012 in a limited engagement at the Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery in New York City. Holly Woodlawn Musical to Premiere Off-Broadway?

The Village Voice is reporting that plans are in the works to bring a new Holly Woodlawn musical to an off-Broadway theatre. The blog reports that the writing team will include Penny Rockwell and Lance Cruz, who will also star as Holly. Additional expected casting will include drag stars Brandon Olson and Jackie Curtis.
