The award-winning CAP21 Theatre Company will open its 2015 season with the first production of a new musical, THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST, with book and lyrics by Jenny Stafford, music by Brandon Anderson, and story by Jenny Stafford and Brandon Anderson. It is a love story exploring the conflicting ways in which we each see the world and the fears we have of losing ourselves in other people. THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST will play a limited run from tonight, February 4 -28, 2015 at the CAP21 Theatre, 18 West 18th Street, 5th Floor, New York.

THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST is a love story that takes place in the moment between the Scientist's proposal and the Artist's answer. It explores the creative and scientific forces that make us who we are; and the people who challenge us to open ourselves to something more. In 2001 Kabul, in a bedroom with blacked out windows, an Afghan prostitute is having affair with a member of the Taliban religious police. The Buck Creek Players will continue their 40th Anniversary Season 'Fabulous at 40' with Clare Boothe Luce's comedy, The Women, opening Friday, March 21st, and running for two weekends through Sunday, March 30th. Curtain times will be at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with 2:30 p.m. matinees offered on Sundays. All performances will be held at the Buck Creek Playhouse on the southeast side of Indianapolis at 11150 Southeastern Avenue.

Producer of the Cape Playhouse, and Chief Executive of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts, Mark Cuddy, today announced that Joseph Guglielmo has been appointed to the newly created position of General Manager of the Playhouse and Center for the Arts campus. He begins full-time on January 20th, and will report directly to Cuddy.

Richard B. Hawes, Jr., President of the Board of Trustees of the Cape Playhouse and Cape Cod Center for the Arts, today announced that veteran theatre leader, Mark Cuddy, will assume the newly-created position of Playhouse Producer and Chief Executive of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts. Mr. Cuddy has been the Artistic Director of the largest producing theatre in New York State outside of Manhattan, Rochester's Geva Theatre Center, for the past eighteen years. He will continue in that position as he begins with the Playhouse immediately. Mr. Cuddy has led theatres across the country for over thirty-three years, and serves on the Board of Directors of Theatre Communications Group, the nation's service organization for the advancement of professional, not-for-profit theatres.
