The 26th Columbia University Film Festival Runs 5/3-9

Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program and The Film Society of Lincoln Center have announced they will co-present the 26th Annual Columbia University Film Festival (CUFF), a week-long program of screenings, dramatic readings and special events in New York. The celebration will continue with events to be announced for June in Los Angeles. This marks the second year that the festival is co-presented by the Film Society.

Burke-Cohen Entertainment/Jimmy Burke, Jeff Cohen presents American Idol finalist Crystal Bowersox and Oscar and Emmy Award nominee Annette O'Toole starring in the Broadway premiere of Ted Swindley's Always… Patsy Cline, directed by Tony Award winner John Rando. The scenery will be designed by Anna Louizos, who is currently represented on Broadway with 'Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.' Performances begin in July with an August opening.

Eiko Ishioka, costume designer for SPIDER-MAN, is nominated for a 2013 Academy Award for her costume designs for Mirror, Mirror. Ishioka passed away last year after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer on January 21 in Tokyo. She was 73 years old. EWOnline reports that Lindsay Lohan has just signed on to join the cast of the upcoming film THE CANYONS. The actress will join previously announced cast member James Deen, an actor best known for his work in pornographic films. The film will be directed by Paul Schraeder.

Jack Garfein, theater-film director and acting teacher, has written a book, LIFE and ACTING: Techniques for the Actor (Northwestern University Press). Mr. Garfein is one of the last living links to the Golden Age of The Actors Studio. Required reading for anyone interested in theatre, the book is being launched with a signing at The Drama Book Shop this Friday, March 18th, 5:30-7:00 pm.
