The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), the nation's premier member organization of independent storytellers, announced today the nominees for the 28th Annual IFP Gotham Awards. Ten competitive awards will be presented to independent features and series. In addition to the competitive awards, Gotham Tributes will be given to actors Rachel Weisz and Willem Dafoe, director Paul Greengrass, and the Gotham Industry Tribute to Jon Kamen.

The International Film Festival & Awards • Macao (IFFAM) is today delighted to announce the appointment of Academy Award® winner Nicolas Cage as Talent Ambassador for the 3rd edition of the festival, which will take place from 8 to 14 December 2018.

Independent production company, Boilermaker Entertainment, has signed a multi-picture deal with global media company Arclight Films, announced today by Louis Shaw Milito and Phil Conserva, co-founders of Boilermaker Entertainment.

According to Variety, Willem Dafoe has found his follow-up to his Oscar-nominated performance in “The Florida Project,” as the veteran actor has signed on to co-star with Anne Hathaway in the Netflix pic “The Last Thing He Wanted.”

On Thursday, May 3rd Jacob Burns Film Center (Pleasantville, NY) will be pre-screening Paul Schrader's new film First Reformed , which is set for release in the US on May 18th, 2018.

The Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) is proud to announce the dynamic 2018 Feature Film Competition Lineup. Due to popular demand, The Left Wing, in association with John Turturro, extends the world premiere production of Brandon Cole's Imperfect Love to February 25. Directed by Michael Di Jiacomo, Imperfect Love is inspired by the tumultuous life of the great Italian actress Eleonora Duse (1858-1924) and her nine-year love affair with the poet and playwright Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863-1938). The production, which is set to open on February 4, runs at The Connelly Theater and features set and costume design by the Academy Award-winning Italian designer Gianni Quaranta (Merchant-Ivory's A Room with a View). Turturro's 1998 film, Illuminata, which was co-written by Cole and Turturro, was based on Cole's Imperfect Love.
