Book 3 of The Memory Wars Trilogy is Released
by Christina Mancuso - Sep 2, 2014

Praise for The Memory Wars: 'The details offered and their combined effects press the reader to consider this novel as a complex structure and story, and a story full of surprises.' - Dr. Ron Callan, UCD School of English, Drama and Film 'A richly drawn fantasy that pulls you into its dark world and keeps you guessing until the end.' - Janice Hardy, author of The Healing Wars trilogy 'This is a must-read for anyone who calls themselves a magical fantasy fan.' - Whitney Boyd, author of Tanned, Toned and Totally Faking It 'With well-drawn characters, compelling writing, and a protagonist facing both internal and external demons, Paul Anthony Shortt takes readers on a fast-paced ride through a dark, paranormal underworld.' - Elisabeth Craig, author of the Southern Quilting mysteries 'Nathan is an engaging and sympathetic character with a compelling story. His truly is a hero's journey.' - Linda Poitevin, author of the Grigori Legacy series 'Paul Anthony Shortt turned up the heat, ignited the nitrous oxide, and brought everything along with the kitchen sink.' - Thomas R Manning, author of Energize - A hero will fall. A legend will rise. Hope will be reborn. The Memory Wars trilogy follows Nathan Shepherd, a man who can remember past lives, as he uncovers the truth of his previous incarnations: The warrior he once was, and the hero he was born to be. Facing secret societies, immortal killers, and his own dark side, he has fought to rally the people of New York against the forces of darkness. Memory War, the third book in Bray author Paul Anthony Shortt's urban fantasy trilogy, is the culmination of an epic adventure for his reincarnated hero. About Memory War: New York is once again under the protection of a Conclave. Though still in its infancy, the group thrives under Nathan Shepherd's leadership. But their success is fragile. Athamar and Morrigan return to exact their revenge, plunging the city into war. Uniting the forces of darkness under their banner, they seek a weapon lost to Nathan's memories, something so powerful even the gods themselves fear it. Nathan and Elena must set aside their differences and stand together, braving the pain of long-buried lifetimes to find the key to their salvation. Somewhere, locked within their former incarnations, lies the answer. The one hope they have left, if they have the strength to walk into their final battle. While he may not have to fight monsters and defeat evil, Paul knows how to face some daunting day to day struggles, as he works full-time alongside parenting three daughters under the age of two! 'It can be difficult to find time to write,' Paul says. 'I often get up extra early at weekends so I can work, and I write through my lunch break in my day-job. It's a big demand, but being an author has been my lifelong ambition, and my wife is very supportive. Since the recession hit, a real entrepreneurial spirit has taken hold in Ireland, and more people are using their free time to pursue their dreams. I may be run off my feet, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.' Published by WiDo Publishing, a small independent house based in Utah, Paul has had an unconventional route to the bookshelves. 'Writers are bombarded with advice on how to succeed,' Paul adds. 'But there are as many paths to success as there are writers. My advice would be to never let yourself be intimidated - you only have one life, and a good book will always find its audience.' The first two installments of the series, Locked Within and Silent Oath, are available now through Amazon and select bookstores. Memory War will be released on September 2nd. About the author: A child at heart who turned to writing and role playing games when there simply weren't enough action figures to play out the stories he wanted, Paul Anthony Shortt has been writing all his life. Growing up surrounded by music, film and theater gave him a deep love of all forms of storytelling, each teaching him something new he could use. When not playing with the people in his head, he enjoys cooking and regular meet-ups with his gaming group. He is actively involved with the Irish science fiction and fantasy community, and has spoken on panels at Octocon, Ireland's premiere sci-fi and fantasy convention, and will be taking part in Shamrokon, the Irish Eurocon, in August. He lives in Ireland with his wife Jen and their dogs, Pepper and Jasper. Their first child, Conor William Henry Shortt, was born on July 11th, 2011. He passed away three days later, but brought love and joy into their lives and those of their friends. The following year, Jen gave birth to twins, Amy and Erica. Their fourth child, Olivia, was born in January, 2014. For more information: paulanthonyshortt.blogspot.com facebook.com/memorywartrilogy facebook.com/paulanthonyshortt

BWW Reviews: Sparkling KISS ME, KATE at Barrington Stage Company
by Larry Murray - Jun 16, 2014

For this classic musical, Barrington Stage went big - and it pays off in a rollicking, ribald KISS ME, KATE with top notch singing, dancing, and saging. Cole Porter's musical gets a great cast that does his music proud, while not mining the genius of Bella and Samuel Spewack's book for every possible laugh.
