I may be run off my feet, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.' Published by WiDo Publishing, a small independent house based in Utah, Paul has had an unconventional route to the bookshelves. 'Writers are bombarded with advice on how to succeed,' Paul adds. 'But there are as many paths to success as there are writers. My advice would be to never let yourself be intimidated - you only have one life, and a good book will always find its audience.' About the author: A child at heart who turned to writing and role playing games when there simply weren't enough action figures to play out the stories he wanted, Paul Anthony Shortt has been writing all his life. Growing up surrounded by music, film and theater gave him a deep love of all forms of storytelling, each teaching him something new he could use. When not playing with the people in his head, he enjoys cooking and regular meet-ups with his gaming group. He is actively involved with the Irish science fiction and fantasy community, and has spoken on panels at Octocon, Ireland's premiere sci-fi and fantasy convention, and will be taking part in Shamrokon, the Irish Eurocon, in August. He lives in Ireland with his wife Jen and their dogs, Pepper and Jasper. Their first child, Conor William Henry Shortt, was born on July 11th, 2011. Second Stage Theatre's 35th Anniversary Gala celebration just honored Carole Rothman, Artistic Director of Second StageTheatre, for her 35 years of supporting new works and artistic development in New York City theatre. This year's rock n' roll themed gala was attended by over 250 Second Stage Alumni who have worked at Second Stage Theatre during the past 35 years, from Brooke Adams and Polly Draper who appeared in the very first season, to cast members from the currently running The Substance of Fire and the upcoming American Hero which will make its New York premiere this summer at Second Stage Uptown.
