Shakespeare & Company Presents Lucy Kirkwood's THE CHILDREN

Shakespeare & Company presents Critics Circle and Susan Smith Blackburn Award-winning playwright Lucy Kirkwood's timely play The Children, directed by James Warwick, back for his second season with the Company after last season's acclaimed Mothers and Sons.

RSC Will Tour AS YOU LIKE IT, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW and MEASURE FOR MEASURE

For the first time the Royal Shakespeare Company will tour three productions in repertoire to six regional theatres, playing for two weeks in each venue. As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew and Measure for Measure will visit Salford in September 2019, and then Canterbury, Plymouth, Nottingham, Newcastle upon Tyne and Blackpool in early 2020. Performance dates at the end of the release.

Casting Announced For RSC 2019 Season: AS YOU LIKE IT, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, and MEASURE FOR MEASURE

The collaborative, cross-cast company is announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) productions of As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew and Measure for Measure, playing in a newly reconfigured Royal Shakespeare Theatre next summer. All three productions will then tour in repertoire for the first time to six regional theatres in 2019 and 2020. The actors will each appear in two of the three plays performed as part of the Summer 2019 repertoire. Design for all three productions is by Stephen Brimson Lewis, Director of Design for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

PARAGON Fest, a Sci-Fi and Fantasy Play Festival, Announces Lineup at Otherworld Theatre of Chicago

Otherworld Theatre announced the lineup of its annual PARAGON Play Fest, the world's largest Science Fiction and Fantasy genre play festival. PARAGON Play Fest, now in its 4th year, is the largest Science Fiction and Fantasy play festival in the world; featuring 40 Science-Fiction and Fantasy plays performed over 2 days. Collaborating with hundreds of Theatre Artists, locally and internationally to increase exposure for an underserved theatre genre, PARAGON Play Fest has become an annual festival and a unique part of Chicago's diverse cultural landscape. Curated by Otherworld Theatre Company's Literary Manager Elliott Sowards and Otherworld's Artistic Director, Tiffany Keane Schaefer for the fourth year running. Otherworld Theatre Announces Playwrights For PARAGON Fest

This year, PARAGON will produce Otherworld Theatre mainstage playwrights D. Matthew Beyer (last season's Down the Rocky Road and All the Way to Bedlam) and Elizabeth A.M. Keel (playwright of the upcoming Mainstage production, Corona). Beyer's time travel farce, Everything is Fine and Keel's play which centers on two messengers at the beginning of the world, Missives will be presented at PARAGON Fest.

Pear Theatre Presents FRESH PRODUCE Readings, Beginning Today

Pear Theatre, always a champion of new plays by local playwrights, has upgraded its play development series and premieres 'Fresh Produce,' a weekend presentation of staged readings, from July 20 to 21. An annual event, 'Fresh Produce' will this year feature three plays under development from members of the Pear Playwrights Guild: 'Terms of Use' by Patrick Brennan, 'Dr. Rowan, the Demon, and Love' by Carol Wolf, and 'Confession' by Barry Slater. 'Fresh Produce' will offer one reading today evening, and two on Saturday afternoon. All readings are held at the Pear Theatre, 1110 La Avenida St., Mountain View. Tickets ($10 per reading, or $25 for all three) can be purchased by visiting www.thepear.org or calling (650) 254-1148.
