WICKED, the global musical phenomenon that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, is pleased to announce that former West End cast members Nikki Davis-Jones, Emily Tierney and George Ure will all join the UK & Ireland Tour cast as Elphaba, Glinda and Boq respectively.

BLUES IN THE NIGHT uses the great blues and jazz songs of the 1920s and 30s to explore the lives of three women and a saloon singer in a 'cheap hotel' during the course of a long memory-filled evening. The 26 songs celebrate the blues melodies of Bessie Smith, Jimmy Cox, Duke Ellington, Alberta Hunter and songs by Harold Arlen, Benny Goodman, Andy Razaf, Johnny Mercer and others.

There are certain things one can expect from any given production of RENT: the Mark will always wear a scarf, the cast will always try to get a bit of a clap-along going in 'Seasons Of Love' and the Benny will do his best with what is a thankless, nothingy role. While it's sometimes refreshing to see new takes on well-known shows, there's a certain pleasure to be had from seeing Jonathan Larson's groundbreaking rock opera play out exactly as you expect, cringe-worthy 'white light' ending and all.

Theatre Bench in association with Soho Theatre and Ros Povey present the World Premiere of new musical LIFT, which will run in the Main House at Soho Theatre now through Sunday 24 February 2013. The show stars Julie Atherton as 'French Teacher', Nikki Davis-Jones as 'Secretary', Cynthia Erivo as 'Lap Dancer', Jonny Fines as 'Ballet Dancer', Luke Kempner as 'Bright Young Thing', Ellie Kirk as 'Athletic and Wearing a Thong', George Maguire as 'Busker' and Robbie Towns as 'Tall, Dark and Handsome'. Casting has been announced for the 20th Anniversary Rent in Concert tour, opening 25 April 2013 in Manchester.

It was truly a family affair as actor and Dancing with The Stars All Stars contestant Gilles Marini and his family joined The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas to kick off the second annual Winter in Venice. With a guest appearance from Samantha Barks (Les Miserables film), the cast includes Gina Beck, Lisa-Anne Wood and Shona Lindsay, Helena Blackman, Norma Bowman, Daniel Boys, Nikki Davis-Jones, Sarah Lark, Jon Robyns and Lisa-Anne Wood.

The Society of London Theatre has today announced the shortlist for the BBC Radio 2 Olivier Audience Award. The public will vote for the overall winner. The shortlisted shows are BILLY ELLIOT, JERSEY BOYS, LES MISÉRABLES and WICKED.
