On Thursday, May 3, LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater, in collaboration with Tamasha: A Festival @ Hypokrit Theatre, held an exclusive event at LCT3's Claire Tow Theater to raise visibility for the South Asian theater community.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today 11 of the 12 productions slated for 2018 NYMF. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project selections, as well as the first of two invited productions. Now in its fifteenth year, the 2018 Festival will take place July 9th through August 5th at locations on West 42nd Street in New York City. Dan Markley serves as NYMF Executive Director and Rachel Sussman serves as Producing Artistic Director.

The New York Musical Festival has announced that due to an overwhelming number of submissions for its 2018 Next Link Project, they have decided to extend the deadline to Wednesday November 8 at 11.59pm EST. This is an extension of one week from the previously announced deadline of today, November 1.

This event provides a platform for emerging artists and thinkers to explore the future of culture and community in an energized and transformative environment.

LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater opens its 2016-2017 season with the world premiere of The Harvest, by Samuel D. Hunter, directed by Davis McCallum. The Harvest, whose cast will feature Gideon Glick, Scott Jaeck, Leah Karpel, Peter Mark Kendall, Madeleine Martin, Christopher Sears, and Zoe Winters, is running for six weeks only through Sunday, November 20th at the Claire Tow Theater. Al Roker and wife Deborah Roberts came to a preview of the powerful new play, American Son at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield Ma. last night. The play is written by Christopher Demos-Brown and is directed by BSC founder/artistic director Julianne Boyd. It stars Tamara Tunie and Michael Hayden with Luke Smith and Andre' Ware. The world premiere of American Son will take place on June 22 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage of Barrington Stage Co. It runs through July 9, 2016

The Asian American Arts Alliance has launched its inaugural 2016 Van Lier Fellowships in Acting and Directing for early-career theater artists of Asian descent who are 30 and under and based in New York City. Ms. Seonjae Kim is the 2016 Van Lier Directing Fellow and Ms. Diana Oh is the 2016 Van Lier Acting Fellow. Ms. Kim and Ms. Oh were both selected in an open application process by a high-level review panel.
