Broadway Legend Joel Grey Headlines 2018 Gala at The Garden Theatre

The Garden Theatre is pleased to announce its signature gala, Encore: A 10 Year Anniversary Celebration with Broadway Legend Joel Grey presented by Orlando Health. The annual event which supports the theatre's onstage artistry and its education programs will be held on March 3, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The evening's entertainment also includes performances by Central Florida's leading talent honoring the Garden's past and future.

I had the pleasure of attending the 7th Annual Clive Barnes Awards on January 9, 2017 at the Walter Reade Theater of Lincoln Center. Last year, I also attended this ceremony, which supports artists from both the theater and dance worlds through financial gifts and accolades in memory of the indefatigable Mr. Barnes. Interestingly enough, I believe that having the privilege to be there again allowed me to see how much this foundation impacts the nominees and the winners.

The Tony Award-winning Drama Book Shop is honored to welcome stage and screen legend Joel Grey on Monday, April 25th at 5:00pm. The actor will discuss his newly released memoir Master of Ceremonies with Drama Book Shop Events Manager Steven Carl McCasland, including a Q&A with the audience. The event, in the Arthur Seelen Theatre downstairs, will be followed by signing on the main floor of the shop. Admission is free to the public, but those who have purchased Mr. Grey's book directly from The Drama Book Shop will be given first priority admission. (If you purchase the book in advance to the event, please bring your receipt!)

Mr. Grey will also be the guest of honor at a gala brunch on Saturday, March 29th. Last year's campaign of post performance fund drives, organized by Dramaworks, amassed a donation of over $18,000 to The Actors Fund.
