60 MINUTES SPORTS Airs Secretariat Special Tonight

There may never have been nor ever be another horse as good as Secretariat, and his owner knew it. As Penny Chenery recalls her chestnut colt's Triple Crown win 40 years ago, she tells 60 Minutes Sports she never used the nickname 'Big Red.' That was the name rooting fans used for the racehorse that would win the last leg of the Triple Crown by 31 lengths in a world record time some believe may never be broken. Chenery is joined by Secretariat's Hall of Fame rider, Ron Turcotte, in an anniversary feature on the great thoroughbred's historic achievement reported by Morley Safer and only on SHOWTIME, Today, June 5 at 9:00 PM.

Lapham's Quarterly (Editor and Publisher Lewis Lapham) announced today their annual gala, the DECADES BALL: The 1950s, was held last night, June 3 at Capitale (130 Bowery at Grand Street). The evening, emceed by Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, included performances and readings by Tom Hanks and Patricia Clarkson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Martha Plimpton, Tony Kushner, Ari Graynor, Steven Pasquale, Francois Battiste, Paul Muldoon, Nellie McKay, and a toast by Editor and Publisher of Lapham's Quarterly, Lewis Lapham. 60 MINUTES made Nielsen's Top 10 this week for the fourth time in five broadcasts. The CBS News magazine drew an audience of 12.62 million viewers to finish at #8. It was the 14th time over 24 broadcasts this season that the program was among Americans' 10 most watched primetime broadcasts.
