The official Facebook page for SHREK THE MUSICAL has announced that 'First up: he may be small in size (a mere 4 feet, 10 inches), but he makes up for it in tyranny! It's, Lord Farquaad, who will be played by Todd Buonopane. Todd has appeared in the Broadway production of 'Grease' and has also made TV appearances on '30 Rock' & 'Law & Order: CI.' We can be sure to expect BIG things from... this little dictator of Duloc.'

Producers DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are thrilled to announce casting for SHREK THE MUSICAL. Native Chicagoan, Eric Petersen will lead the First National Tour cast as Shrek. The Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning SHREK THE MUSICAL will launch its national tour in Chicago beginning July 13 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.). On Monday, November 30, The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company presented the fifth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was be presented by Eric Schaeffer of the Signature Theatre in the Penthouse Lobby of The American Airlines Theater.
