Square Mile Relay Comes To New York, Today

The relay race will feature more than 100 teams from leading financial institutions who compete to win a $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice. Each team includes 10 runners who will each run a 1 mile course that winds through the Financial District and culminates in a celebratory after party at the finish line where runners and their friends will be treated to a live DJ set and complimentary food and drinks as the race results come in.

The app sets a new standard in museum visitor engagement by leveraging technology to encourage dialogue between visitors and the Museum's Audience Engagement staff, a dedicated team of experienced art historians, researchers, and educators. Daphne Rubin-Vega, Fredi Walker-Brown, and Wilson Heredia lead a group of two dozen singers who appeared in various productions of the award-winning show, RENT, in a tribute to playwright Jonathan Larson as he is posthumously awarded The Marfan Foundation's Hero with a Heart Award at the Foundation's Heartworks gala on April 14. Heredia originated the role of "Angel" in the Tony Award-winning production of RENT; Rubin-Vega portrayed "Mimi" in the original Broadway cast; and Walker-Brown was the original "Joanne."
