The Pasadena Playhouse announced the first four productions of the 2012 - 2013 season of its HOTHOUSE at The Playhouse new play development, staged reading series. The season will feature the world premiere reading of Lee Blessing's (A Walk in the Woods) A View of the Mountains starring Jane Kaczmarek and Betsy Brandt, Marsha Mason as the title role in Aunt Stossie's Coming for Five Days and Michael Arabian (Ovation nominee, Waiting for Godot) directing a new work supported by the Armenian Dramatic Arts Alliance.

Darkness! Audience in the dark! Actors in the dark! No light! The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble presents the world premiere of Theatre in the Dark, a unique theatrical experience made up of two separate evenings: "DARK" (opening Oct. 20) and "MORE DARK" (opening Nov. 3), with both evenings running in repertory through December 16 at the Odyssey Theatre in West Los Angeles.

'Prostate Cancer' to Get 4 Week Run at Powerhouse Theatre

Hal Ackerman takes a frank look at his own mortality in his play Testosterone: How Prostate Cancer Made a Man of Me. The playwright also takes center stage in his autobiographical work, joined by supporting cast members Dennis Lee Kelly and Lisa Robins. Michael Arabian directs a four-week run at The Powerhouse Theatre in Santa Monica April 18 through May 10.
