This October, the world's biggest musical theatre fan convention, Musical Con, will return to London for the third year running, welcoming thousands of fans, of all ages, from across the country and abroad, to celebrate all things musicals under one roof. 

Happy Tony Award nominations day, BroadwayWorld! It is April 30, 2024 and it's time to catch up on all of the theatrical happenings you may have missed in the last 24 hours: 

Melanie La Barrie, currently starring as Hermes in the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown in London, has announced that she will temporarily cease stage dooring. This decision follows two recent unsettling incidents where she was approached aggressively by fans.

Hadestown is a show that has taken the West End by storm. Recently, we had the opportunity to talk with Melanie La Barrie, who plays Hermes. We discussed how La Barrie first got into theatre and decided to move to London, how she changed the role of Hermes by removing references to the character’s gender and why Hadestown such a special show.

Five years after its sold-out run at the National Theatre, Hadestown returns to London at the Lyric Theate. In this video, watch highlights of the cast in action.

Hadestown, the acclaimed Broadway musical phenomenon by singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin has made its long-awaited West End premiere at the Lyric Theatre.

Created with director Rachel Chavkin, it’s a story of tragic love and politics, defeat and defiance. An epic anthem for the lovers and the runaways. The actors mostly new to Hadestown, Hades’ underground factory, with only Gloria Onitiri returning as Persephone (rather than a Fate) and Beth Hinton-Lever in the ensemble.

The upcoming West End production of Hadestown has released a video of Gloria Onitiri performing 'Our Lady Of The Underground'! Gloria will be playing the role of Persephone when Hadestown begins performances in London on 10 February at the Lyric Theatre.

& Juliet star Lorna Courtney appeared on The TODAY Show this morning to perform the musical's opening number, 'Baby One More Time.' Courtney was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in the hit musical. Watch the video of her performing the Britney Spears classic now!
