Pete McCann's trademark infusion of postbop jazz with roots-rock grit and energy reaches a new peak with the guitarist-composer's July 20 release of 'Pay for It on the Other Side' (McCannic Music). McCann's sixth album, and his third with the quintet of alto saxophonist John O'Gallagher, pianist/keyboardist Henry Hey, bassist Matt Clohesy, and drummer Mark Ferber, packs a hefty punch that emphasizes the confrontational aspect implied by its name.

The Shanghai String Quartet returns to perform Beethoven Quartet Cycle Program #2 on Sunday, June 17 (3pm) - a not-to-be-missed concert event! The favorite Twilight Series begins on Saturday, June 16th (6:30pm) with a VIP Opening Night featuring the two-time Grammy Award Winner,Ted Nash Quartet playing the rich and colorful sounds of jazz! Thin Lizzy drum legend Brian Downey and his new band Alive And Dangerous are delighted to announce that they will be coming back to Nell's Jazz & Blues to perform as part of the London Fleadh week.

The Love Wins! concert will feature Matt Wilson's Christmas Tree-O with DownBeat and JazzTimes poll winning drummer Matt Wilson, Paul Sikivie on bass and Jeff Lederer on saxophone, as well as an all-star group featuring Grammy-nominated vocalist Ren Marie, Grammy Award winner Bill Charlap on piano, Grammy-nominated bassist Rufus Reid and Grammy-nominated saxophonist Jimmy Greene , who is WCSU co-coordinator of Jazz Studies and associate professor of Music. The event is hosted by the WCSU Department of Music.
