The Board of Trustees of The Public Theater just announced that Arielle Tepper Madover has been elected as The Public's new Board Chair. Madover, who joined the board in 2009, has been an active member of the Executive Committee, serving as Board Vice-Chair for the last year and Chair of The Public's Commercial Projects Committee since 2011. She was Co-Chair of The Public's 2013 Gala and the 50thAnniversary Gala in 2012, achieving the highest grossing galas in Public Theater history. Speaking at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts annual benefit gala last night at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles, Academy Award-winning director, producer and screenwriter Oliver Stone recalled his days at the iconic arts school, which he attended in the years after his return from Vietnam. "I entered back into civilization at Tisch," he said. "New York was the right place at the right time. It's been my orphan home." Mr. Stone was honored last night by NYU's Tisch School of the Arts for Outstanding Achievement in the Cinematic Arts. Tony and Grammy-award winning actor Steve Kazee (Once) and Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson co-hosted the benefit gala, where over $1 million was raised for the school.
