LEND ME A TENOR Delays Previews; Now Begins Performances 3/12

Due to the timing of the start of LEND ME A TENOR's preview performances and director Stanley Tucci's travel to and from The Academy Awards, the producers of the comedy said today that performances will now begin on March 12, one day later than previously announced. Mr. Tucci has been nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in 'The Lovely Bones.' Ticketholders for March 11 may exchange or return those tickets at the point of purchase.

Lend Me A Tenor starts previews at the Music Box Theater on March 11 and opens on April 4.
Ken Ludwig's hilarious comedy stars Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Justin Bartha, Brooke Adams, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz, and Jan Maxwell, and is directed by Stanley Tucci. It will play at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). The hilarious cast met the press yesterday and BroadwayWorld.com was there!

WhatsOnStage.com is reporting that a West End production of 'Lend Me a Tenor' may be in the works for fall of 2010. Casting is reportedly underway, with plans for a short run at the Plymouth prior to a potential transfer to the West End.

Maybe I've been watching too many Sex & The City re-runs but once or twice during Manhattan Theatre Club's terrifically acted revival of Caryl Churchill's 1982 drama of gender politics, Top Girls, I couldn't help wondering how its famous first act might work if the cast included Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Because if you don't know the play itself, it may strike a familiar chord if I said, 'It's that one where a group of interesting women get together in a restaurant having revealing conversations while drinking lots of alcohol.'
