Broadway's original Elle Woods, Laura Bell Bundy, returned to her hometown of Lexington, Kentucky to co-direct The LEXington Theatre Company's production of Legally Blonde. Broadway's original Elle Woods, Laura Bell Bundy, returned to her hometown of Lexington, Kentucky to co-direct The LEXington Theatre Company's production of Legally Blonde. Legally Blonde, the third mainstage production from The LEXington Theatre Company, opened last night, and features original choreography by Jerry Mitchell, recreated and adapted by Brooke Engen (Gypsy, Hairspray) and Tiffany Engen (Legally Blonde), as well as original Broadway cast members Kevin Pariseau and Chico the Chihuahua. The LEXington Theatre Company presents its third summer production, combining "Today's Broadway Stars and Tomorrow's Broadway Hopefuls." Lexington's own Laura Bell Bundy (Tony-Nominee for Legally Blonde), will be on hand to co-direct the show (schedule permitting), alongside The LEX Artistic Director, Lyndy Franklin Smith (A Chorus Line, The Little Mermaid). The production will feature the Tony-nominated original Broadway choreography, by Jerry Mitchell, recreated and adapted by Brooke Engen, (Gypsy, Hairspray) and Tiffany Engen (Legally Blonde).

The Lexington Theatre Company is in final preparations for its second 'Concert With The Stars,' January 16, 2016, at 8:00pm at The Lexington Opera House. This year's line-up of stars includes Jenni Barber (Wicked, Annie, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Stephen R. Buntrock (A Little Night Music, Oklahoma, Beauty & The Beast), Erin Dilly (A Christmas Story, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Tony nominee for Chittty Chitty Bang Bang) and Kyle Dean Massey (Pippin, Next to Normal, Wicked, ABC's 'Nashville'), alongside collegiate and local talent - illustrating the mission of this new professional theatre company in Lexington, Kentucky. 'Concert With the Stars' is sponsored by KentuckyOne Health.

Broadway veterans J. Austin Eyer and Lyndy Franklin Smith's have written a new book, BROADWAY SWINGS: COVERING THE ENSEMBLE IN MUSICAL THEATRE. Bloomsbury Publishing will release the title on October 22, 2015.
