Directed by Mr. Langs, the co-production by the two non-profit theaters has an official Opening Night set for Tuesday, June 7 at 7PM. Playwrights Horizons and Vineyard Theatre are presenting the New York premiere of the new musical THE BURNT PART BOYS. With a book by Mariana Elder, music by Chris Miller, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and direction and musical staging by four-time Helen Hayes Award winner Joe Calarco (Shakespeare's R&J), the joint production opened on Tuesday, May 25 at 7PM. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, June 13 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theatre (416 West 42nd Street).

The 2nd Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) Awards were held Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Bleecker Street Theatre, located at 45 Bleecker Street, winners were announced in 33 separate categories.

On Friday, September 5, at 8pm the Midtown International Theater Festival Awards will take place. The MITF Awards will honor the best shows and performances from the recently completed Ninth Annual Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival, which took place from July 14-August 10 of this year.
