Broadway actors Linda Hart (Hairspray, Anything Goes, and Catch Me if You Can), Matt Cavenaugh (West Side Story and Urban Cowboy), Jenny Powers (Grease and Little Women), Angela Grovey (Leap of Faith), Grammy-nominated singer Ryan Shaw (Real Love and It Gets Better), and members of the Middle Church artists community lend their voices to Larry Hart's Praise!: An Irreverently Reverent Gospel Experience on Sunday, June 17 at 6 pm at Middle Collegiate Church (112 Second Avenue near E. 7th Street). Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, the high-energy music of Praise! is inspired by The Common themes shared in world religions.

OK, so I'll admit I was hesitant to start reviewing at the Children's Theatre. But then at the urging of others and the insistence that they are putting up some of the better shows in town, I relented. And if their current offering, "A Single Shard", is any indication, then I seriously need to rethink my attitude. Yes, it's children's theater in that it's theater that's OK for children to see, but it's so much more and better than you may expect.

New York Stage and Film held its Annual Winter Gala last night, December 4, 2011 at The Plaza Hotel (770 Fifth Avenue, New York City). The Off Broadway production of Standing On Ceremony kicked off its open-ended run on November 7. Conceived by Brian Shnipper and directed by Stuart Ross, Standing On Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays began as a series of benefit events in Los Angeles, taking on a life of their own as an inspiring theatrical evening. The New York cast features Craig Bierko, Mark Consuelos, Polly Draper, Harriet Harris, Beth Leavel and Richard Thomas. The first national tour will launch in the Fall of 2012 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI.

The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is sponsored by official charity partners, the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®), Newman's Own® Organics: The Second Generation®, with additional sponsorship by the New York Times. The event will take place in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).

Last month, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN released a new promo video for the show, which featured leading man Aaron Tviet, his female co-stars, and the music of Adele! Now the show has launched a video contest that gives fans the opportunity to win tickets to the show!
