Renowned educationalist Sir Ken Robinson will be the Patron of The Imagination Awards, a competition launched by the award-winning West End production of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to champion creativity and inspire the next generation of theatre makers. THE COLOR PURPLE, which opened last night to ecstatic reviews, will record its official cast album this Monday, December 14, 2015.  The new Broadway cast recording will be released by Broadway Records on January 29, 2016and can pre-ordered at Amazon.com and at www.BroadwayRecords.com.  The album is being produced by six-time Grammy Award winner Frank Filipetti.

On last night's LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT, Jennifer Hudson and the cast of Broadway's THE COLOR PURPLE performed the number 'Push Da Button'.

 Dr. Phillips Charities launches what hopes to be an annual event Dr. Phillips Charities Kids Day by providing underprivileged youth in Orlando an opportunity to enjoy a holiday show and a meal at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.  Dr. Phillips Charities chose four organizations who serve children in Orange and Osceola counties; Edgewood Children's Ranch, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, The YMCA of Central Florida through their Teen Achievers Program and the Kate & Justin Rose Foundation.

CBS has announced that on Monday, Dec. 7th,  Jennifer Hudson will appear on LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT for an interview and a performance from the Broadway production of THE COLOR PURPLE.
