PTP/NYC Presents SERIOUS MONEY and MONSTER, Now thru 7/29

PTP/NYC, in association with Middlebury College, presents its 26th repertory season, its 6th consecutive in New York, running from tonight, July 3 through July 29, 2012 in a limited Off-Broadway engagement at The Atlantic Stage 2, located at 330 West 16th Street between 8th & 9th Avenues in New York City. This season's line-up includes Caryl Churchill's Serious Money - receiving its first New York revival since the 1988 Broadway production - about greed in London's financial district in the late '80s, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Cheryl Faraone, and a revival of Neal Bell's Monster, a stage adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Jim Petosa

Originally set to perform in the Black Box Theater at the Arsenal Center for the Arts through March 18, the New Repertory Theatre and Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater co-production now runs through March 25, 2012.

Classic Stage Company's new production of Anton Chekhov's tragicomic masterpiece THE CHERRY ORCHARD, featuring John Turturro (Lopakhin), Dianne Wiest (Ranevskaya), Ken Cheeseman (Pischick), Daniel Davis (Gaev), Alvin Epstein (Fiers), Josh Hamilton (Trofimov), Slate Holmgren (Yasha), Roberta Maxwell (Charlotta), Juliet Rylance (Varya), Michael Urie (Yepikhodov), Elisabeth Waterston (Dunyasha) and Katherine Waterston (Anya), has extended its upcoming engagement through Friday, December 30. Previews begin Wednesday, November 16 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). THE CHERRY ORCHARD is directed by Andrei Belgrader, with a translation by John Christopher Jones. The official press opening is scheduled for Sunday, December 4 at 7pm.

Josh Hamilton, who won rave reviews last season in Classic Stage Company's production of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters, has joined the company's upcoming production of Chekhov's tragicomic masterpiece THE CHERRY ORCHARD in the role of Trofimov. Hamilton replaces Christian Carmago, who has withdrawn from the production due to a film role. THE CHERRY ORCHARD, which features John Turturro (Lopakhin), Dianne Wiest (Ranevskaya), , Ken Cheeseman (Pischick), Daniel Davis (Gaev), Alvin Epstein (Fiers), Slate Holmgren (Yasha), Roberta Maxwell (Charlotta), Juliet Rylance (Varya), Michael Urie (Yepikhodov), Elisabeth Waterston (Dunyasha) and Katherine Waterston (Anya), begins performances Wednesday, November 16 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). The reading series includes Thomas Middleton's Women Beware Women, directed by ASP company member Sarah Newhouse, and The Last Will by Robert Brustein - a 2011 National Medal of Arts recipient - directed by Daniela Varon.
