You don't have to be an aficionado of Dirty Dancing, the 1987 film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey as a mismatched romantic duo brought together by some sexy dance moves at a Catskills resort, to find yourself loving every moment of Dirty Dancing, The Classic Story On Stage, now ensconced at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall through Sunday.

UP announced today it has acquired the full seven-season run of 'Gilmore Girls,' the award-winning, fan-favorite family drama starring Lauren Graham ('Parenthood'), Alexis Bledel (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), Melissa McCarthy ('Mike & Molly,' Spy), Keiko Agena '('Shameless,' Transformers of the Dark Moon), Yanic Truesdale ('Reumeurs'), Scott Patterson ('CSI Miami'), Liza Weil ('Stir of Echoes'), Jared Padalecki ('Supernatural'), Milo Ventimiglia ('Heroes'), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Gun, Pearl Harbor) and Kelly Bishop ('Bunhead,' 'The Good Wife'), with special appearances by the late Edward Herrmann (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Lost Boys) and recurring guest star Liz Torres ('Devious Maids,' 'Scandal').

Last night HBO hosted the premiere of LARRY KRAMER IN LOVE & ANGER, airing June 29 at 9pm, at the Time Warner Center. In attendance to support both Kramer and the documentary were stars of stage and screen including Mark Ruffalo and Joe Mantello, both of whom starred in THE NORMAL HEART (on HBO and Broadway, respectively) as Ned Weeks, the character that Kramer based on himself. Documentary director Jean Carlomusto, Christine Baranski, Kelly Bishop, Cherry Jones, Stephen Spinella, and President of HBO Documentary Films, Sheila Nevins were also in attendance to screen the film and present Larry with a cake celebrating his upcoming 80th birthday on June 25.

The Public Theater just presented a special 40th anniversary tribute to A CHORUS LINE last night, April 16 in honor of the first performance of this legendary musical that premiered in The Public's Newman Theater 40 years ago and went on to make musical theater history. To commemorate this landmark event, the cast of the critically-acclaimed musical HAMILTON, currently playing on the same Newman stage, presented original cast members of A CHORUS LINE with a plaque that will hang in the Ford Foundation Lobby of The Public. George Street Playhouse to Host Annual Gala in May; Honoree Announced

New Brunswick's George Street Playhouse celebrates the end of another successful season on Sunday, May 3 with their Annual Gala Benefit, themed 'A Starry Night.' As part of the celebration, the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award will be conferred upon Stephen K. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson Health System by the former Governor himself. The first award was given to Governor Kean in 1990 and thereafter, named in his honor to pay tribute to an individual, corporation or foundation whose dedication to the arts enhances the cultural life of the citizens of New Jersey. In addition, this year the Playhouse established The Arthur Laurents Award for Distinguished Artistic Achievement, to be conferred upon an outstanding individual that reflects Mr. Laurents' high artistic standard. The recipient will be announced at a later date.
