Vineyard Theatre opened the world-premiere production of Nicky Silver's play THE LYONS, starring Linda Lavin and Dick Latessa, last night, October 11. The production, which was originally scheduled to run through October 30 has been extended through through November 11 due to popular demand. Philadelphia Theatre Company opens its 2011-2012 season with the Philadelphia premiere of John Logan's Tony Award-winning drama Red October 14-November 13 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). Directed by Anders Cato, the two-person cast features Broadway veteran Stephen Rowe and Oscar nominee Haley Joel Osment.

Previews for Born Yesterday began March 31, at Broadway's Cort Theatre. Directed by Doug Hughes, this revival of Garson Kanin's award-winning comedy about sex and politics opened last night, Easter Sunday, April 24 and BroadwayWorld.com was there!

Helen Stenborg, a Tony-nominated, Obie Award-winning actress and long-time spouse of the late Tony Award-winning actor Barnard Hughes, died Tuesday evening, March 22 at her Manhattan apartment. Her son Doug Hughes and daughter Laura Hughes were at her bedside. She was 86.

The Manhattan Theatre Club opened the New York Premiere of THE WHIPPING MAN, the acclaimed new play by Matthew Lopez, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, last night, February 1. Mrs. Warren's Profession opened yesterday, October 3rd, 2010 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 21st, 2010 and stars Cherry Jones as 'Kitty Warren.' Former 'Sex and the City' writers are teaming up to write a weekly downtown theatrical soap titled Cedar City Falls - a Mid-West Conflict with Labyrinth Theater Company members.

It has been nearly five years since former Sex and the City writers Liz Tuccillo ('Sex and the City,' He's Just Not That Into You), Cindy Chupack (Emmy and three-time Golden Globe winner as a writer and producer of Sexand the City), Elisa Zuritsky, and Julie Rottenberg (Emmy nominated) have collaborated on a project. Fortunately their newest venture, Cedar City Falls, showcases what the four talents do best: bring juicy, comedic soap opera to life in a series of weekly episodes that will be presented live by the LAByrinth Theater Company at the Cell Theater beginning October 6 for four weeks (through October 27) and at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn for a final four weeks (November 4 - 24).
