Manhattanites who yearn for the music and ambience of a Cafe Society piano lounge now have a location and entertainer to hang with. If an Omar Sharif or Rudolph Valentino could play great piano and sing the American Songbook they would have been Eric Yves Garcia who opened at The Pierre Hotel’s 2 E Lounge last night, and he’ll be there every Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present vocalist and pianist Steve Ross in a special new show “Autumn Serenades” on Monday, October 24 at 7:00 PM. Ross will sing a few mellow seasonal ballads, including “September in the Rain,” “Autumn Leaves,” “September Song,” and “When October Goes.”

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the venue's cabaret theater 'suffered a little damage,' but the owner hopes for the space to reopen by the end of the month.

KT Sullivan Hosts High School American Songbook Competition at Laurie Beechman Theater

KT Sullivan, Artistic Director of the Mabel Mercer Foundation hosted the finals of The 5th Adela & Larry Elow American Songbook High School Competition yesterday in the Laurie Beechman Theater at The West Bank Cafe. The competition prize money was endowed by Board Members Adela and Larry Elow to encourage teenagers to learn and perform The Great American Songbook, which was composed between the years 1900-1970.
