Legendary American song composer Harold Arlen will have a Hollywood Big Band tribute when Broadway powerhouse Eden Espinosa (Wicked) and Joseph Leo Bwarie (Jersey Boys) join Arlen's son Sam Arlen and singers Karon Blackwell and George Bugatti, for The Music of Harold Arlen, Wonderful Wizard of Song at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) on Saturday, December 1 at 8:00pm.

The nonprofit Garry Marshall Theatre celebrates starting its second year with support from the entertainment industry and both the Broadway and Los Angeles theatre community for the Second Annual Founder's Gala with performances including the reuniting of Hairspray stars, Tony Award-winner Marissa Jaret Winokur and Broadway favorite Paul C. Vogt.

Prominent Los Angeles  playwright, Josefina Lopez, takes the stage at the Garry Marshall Theatre to dive into the important issues portrayed in Lopez's coming of age comedy, "Real Women Have Curves," with a  special post-show discussion series that begins Oct. 17. Free and open to the public, the series will be led by Lopez herself and feature panelists uniquely related to issues including immigration, retaining one's heritage and women's beauty standards-all prevalent themes in the iconic play, which is currently running at the Garry Marshall Theatre through Nov. 18.

An American icon comes home.  During the early years of his career, American composer, conductor and arranger Henry Mancini and his family lived not far from where California State University, Northridge campus now stands.  On Saturday, October 13 at 8pm, Mancini's music comes home to Northridge as The Soraya presents Moon River and the Music of Henry Mancini.  Starring Monica Mancini with special guest three-time Tony nominated Joshua Henry, Moon River and the Music of Henry Mancini features Gregg Field as Music Director and Chris Walden conducting the New West Symphony.  

Garry Marshall Theatre is proud to present Josefina Lopez's coming of age comedy "Real Women Have Curves" as the first production opening its second season. This new production of the iconic Latina story that inspired the Sundance award-winning film of the same name, is set in present day and features script updates that tackle issues women face today, making it as relevant now as it was when first written in 1988. The production runs from Oct. 12 through Nov. 18.

Garry Marshall Theatre's Board of Directors is proud to announce that Kurt J. Swanson has joined the new nonprofit's leadership team as Managing Director.  

After its 2017 transition to nonprofit status and the launching of its Inaugural Season, the Board of Directors announces the departure of Sherry Greczmiel as Executive Director of the Garry Marshall Theatre. This follows her 15-year history with Marshall's commercial venture - as a producer for the former Falcon Theatre.

I like, many musical theatre nerds get excited every time a world premiere musical comes to town. Arena Stage is providing that fix right now with an Alaskan-rooted premiere of Snow Child. Today's subjects Christiane Noll and Matt Bogart are currently living their theatre lives as the leads in this production, which runs through May 20, 2018.

It's a blast from the past when Musical Theatre's West's acclaimed Broadway in Concert series returns with Oh What A Night!*, starring cast members from Broadway and film productions of Jersey Boys Joseph Leo Bwaire, Quinn VanAntwerp, Michael Lomenda, and John Edwards on Saturday, February 3, 7pm at the intimate Beverly O'Neill Theatre at Long Beach Convention Center. Garry Marshall Theatre revs up the romance with Broadway star Joseph Leo Bwarie in the nonprofit theatre's winter fundraising concert My Funny Valentine. Record-holder for the most performances as 'Frankie Valli' in the award-winning musical Jersey Boys and pop big-band recording artist, Bwarie, known widely on XMradio Siriusly Sinatra, will take the stage for two exclusive concerts with his live 9-piece Good Stuff Band featuring Grammy-nominated and all-star musicians.

Garry Marshall Theatre's marshallARTS family series premieres with a new spin on a classic tale The Enchanted Nightingale. Written by Artistic Director Joseph Leo Bwarie and Lori Marshall (co-author Wake Me When It's Funny, My Happy Days in Hollywood) and directed by Fran de Leon (Center Theatre Group, South Coast Repertory, Criminal Minds), this uplifting story will charm children and adults alike in a limited run, January 12 through March 18 at the magical hour of 11am on Saturdays and Sundays, with select 7pm Friday performances.

Garry Marshall Theatre invites you to kick off the holidays with JOY! a musical celebration featuring local powerhouse John Burroughs High School Vocal Music Association on Tuesday, November 28 at 6pm and 8pm. Then on Tuesday, December 4 at 7:30pm, Broadway talents Terron Brooks and Kamilah Marshall partner again to sing in the holidays for the 9th year in a row with their popular musical variety show Holidaze Harmony.

Theatres have a way of becoming an artist's second home. It doesn't matter if you are a director, designer, actor, or volunteer the countless hours you invest and the close proximity in which you do your work often create friendships that last a lifetime. And each time you step back through those doors you feel like you're coming home. No one knows this to be true more than Joseph Leo Bwarie, whose current home away from home is the Garry Marshall Theatre in Toluca Lake. Bwarie has been connected with the theatre (known formerly as The Falcon) and the Marshall family for many years, and he recently stepped into a co-artistic directorship of the newly-rechristened theatre, along with another longtime Marshall associate, Dimitri Toscas.

The Tony Award-winning musical comedy A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum hits the Garry Marshall Theatre stage, following Ovation Recommended play Master Class.

In 1970, Maria Callas posed for Blackglama's iconic What Becomes a Legend Most ad campaign. The famous black and white Richard Avedon photographs shot against a simple gray background captured the glamour and allure of black mink featuring some of the most iconic faces in the world. It was indeed a look, and Callas knew it was for her.

The new Garry Marshall Theatre's official marquee is lighting up Riverside Drive in Burbank for the first time on Thursday, September 21, just in time for the launch of the theatre's Inaugural Season.
