Top Hat, winner of three Olivier Awards, for 'Best New Musical', 'Best Choreography', 'Best Costume Design' and winner of the Evening Standard Award for 'Best Night Out', is now in its final weeks at the Aldwych Theatre. Enjoying over 600 performances in London, the West End production of Top Hatends on Saturday 26 October 2013.

The show has been said to be aimed towards Broadway since it first opened, with American producers on board from day one. Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that 'Tune, now 74, is getting back in the game. At the behest of his good friend Jimmy Nederlander, a theater legend in his own right, Tune's in London inspecting a new show called 'Top Hat.'

TOP HAT is currently playing at the Aldwych Theatre, and will close on October 26 to make room for Andrew Lloyd Webber's new STEPHEN WARD Musical, which is set to open in November 2013. Thare are plans for a UK tour in 2014-15.

Top Hat won three 2013 Laurence Olivier awards for Best New Musical, Best Choreography (Bill Deamer), and Best Costume design (Jon Morrell) at the ceremony held on April 28. Top Hat, which opened in London last year starring Tom Chambers and Summer Strallen, has picked up seven Oliviers nominations, as revealed this morning.

The National Theatre's production of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time leads the list with eight nominations, followed by the toe-tapping new musical Top Hat receiving seven, and the West End transfer of Chichester Festival Theatre's revival of Sweeney Todd in close competition with six. Other stand-out nominations include The Audience and Kiss Me, Kate receiving five each, and Constellations, The Bodyguard and Twelfth Night with four.

Gavin Lee and Kristen Beth Williams are leading the new cast of the West End hit musical Top Hat as Jerry Travers and Dale Tremont. Over 180,000 new tickets are released for public sale today (10 September 2012) as Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre extends its booking period to 28 September 2013. Seventy seven years after its movie release, Matthew White's production arrived in the West End earlier this year having completed a 20 week sell-out UK tour.
