Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol" is returning to Frederick for the twenty-second straight year with Maryland Ensemble Theatre's production at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. The cast of over two dozen actors portraying the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, Future and Tiny Tim will transport audiences to Victorian England as the penny-pinching Ebenezer Scrooge learns the error of his miserly ways and embraces the true spirit of Christmas.
Millersville's Choral Ensembles to Perform 'World Songs' Concert

Millersville University's choral ensembles will present 'World Songs: A Choral Odyssey' on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in Biemesderfer Concert Hall at the Winter Center. This globetrotting musical trek traverses the earth to bring the audience a colorful presentation of quality choral literature. Sung in original languages, works include internationally renowned composers spanning the history of choral music, from the 14th century to the present. The Winter Center is located at 60 W. Cottage Avenue, Millersville.

For the first time in two decades, The Kitchen will present a new edition of the acclaimed performance series And That's How the Rent Gets Paid, written by downtown legends Jeff Weiss and Richard C. Martinez. For three nights only (tonight, July 14, through July 16), Weiss and Martinez's thrilling serial drama, which follows a charming serial killer through the queer underbelly of New York City, will be brought to life by director and producer Brooke O'Harra with Kate Valk and Nicky Paraiso. The three-day marathon performance features an eclectic group of 50 performers including David Cale, Jennifer Miller, Keith McDermott, Becca Blackwell, Jess Barbagallo, Moe Angelos and Mark Bennett, among others. Weiss will appear in the production, in various cameo performances, throughout the three-day run.

Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre presents a special engagement of Disney's “Tomorrowland,” from today, May 22 – June 17, 2015. Internationally acclaimed magician Greg Wilson will present an all-new magic show, “The Magic of Imagination,” before every screening of the movie. Plus, El Capitan guests will have the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the filmmakers created the world of Tomorrowland, including costumes, props and concept drawings. In addition, El Capitan guests have the opportunity to be among the first to see the film at a special advance screening on May 21 at 7 p.m.

Berkeley Rep is proud to announce that its annual OVATION Gala raised $675,000 for the Theatre's new play development, arts education, and community engagement programs. Held at the glitzy Ritz-Carlton hotel in San Francisco, the event swept guests up in a masquerade fete filled with theatrical spectacle and surprise entertainment. The Gala was one of the most successful in Berkeley Rep's history, welcoming 330 attendees.
