Austin Playhouse has announced the titles for the 2022-2023 Season. The 4-play mainstage season includes a world premiere, a hilarious comedy, and two Austin premieres – a stunning masterpiece and a heartfelt musical at Austin Playhouse’s new interim theatre space located in the heart of Austin.

World-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli has been hailed for reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz. Over the years, he expanded his repertoire to include songs by Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Antônio Carlos Jobim and The Beatles. His interest in Frank Sinatra led him to dedicate two albums to the legendary vocalist: “Dear Mr. Sinatra” and “Sinatra & Jobim @ 50.” 

Singer John Minnock reunites with saxophonist-composer and NEA Jazz Master Dave Liebman to celebrate the release of their album, Simplicity, at 54 Below on Thursday, August 4 at 9:00 PM.

The Bryant Park Reading Room announced August’s lineup. The Swami John Reis Band will be making their first-ever appearances on select California dates this August. Touring in support of Ride The Wild Night, Reis’ recently released debut album on Swami Records, the run will begin on Friday, August 5 in Sacramento, CA and culminate in an appearance at The Casbah in San Diego, CA on Tuesday, August 9.
