ONCE to Close in West End on March 21 Prior to European Tour

Ronan Keating and Jill Winternitz as Guy and Girl will lead the cast in Once The Musical at the Phoenix Theatre until 21 March 2015 when the production will complete its West End run prior to a European tour. Keating joins the internationally award-winning Once on 17 November.

Today (29 August 2014), the producers of Once announce that Jill Winternitz will be continuing in the role of Girl opposite the previously announced Ronan Keating as Guy. Keating will be joining the Olivier award-winning musical on 17 November 2014, with press night on Tuesday 25 November 2014. Once is currently booking at the Phoenix Theatre to 4 July 2015.

According to the Daily Mail, Irish pop star Ronan Keating will appear in the West End production of Once, beginning November 17, 2014, and continuing in the role of the busker (currently played by David Hunter) through March 21, 2015.

David Hunter and Jill Winternitz have joined the Olivier award-winning production of Once as Guy and Girl respectively. Hunter, who originally joined the show in July last year understudying the role of Guy, and Winternitz had their first performance together on 12 May 2014. In April this year, Once was the winner of two coveted Olivier awards - including the first ever recipient of the Olivier for Outstanding Achievement in Music. The show has also won 8 Tony awards including Best Musical and the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. In addition Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova's Falling Slowly won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Check out a first look at the pair onstage below!

Voting is now open for the next 2013 West End Frame Award, 'Best West End Debut'. Voting opened at 2pm on Friday 16th August and must close at 3pm on Thursday 29th August 2013. Nine actors who have made their West End debuts over the past year have been nominated.

Beginning at 6:15pm today Birmingham Hippodrome will be streaming LIVE from behind the scenes of Dirty Dancing. At 6:15pm we will join the full company on stage as they complete the daily physical warm-up, then from 6.30-6.45pm we get an insight into the intense vocal warm-up before curtain up. This will be a unique and rarely seen opportunity to take a glimpse behind the red curtain and see the day to day workings of a major theatrical production.

The new company will have their first performance at Birmingham Hippodrome on Wednesday 4 July (American Independence Day) and will run until Saturday 25 August. Since the UK tour opened in Bristol on 1 September 2011, demand for tickets has been sensational, smashing box office records across the country and playing to packed houses.
