Piper McKenzie's Dainty Cadaver is an Exquisite Corpse-style playmaking project in which multiple playwrights collaborate on a single work without knowing what the hell the others are doing. Each writer reads the previous scene, writes a new scene, and passes it on to the next writer - who doesn't see any of what came earlier. Beautiful madness ensues.

On Monday September 21, 2009, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, and host Julie Halston, announced the 2009 recipients at the Fifth Annual IT Awards Ceremony at New World Stages. The award-winning Musical Theatre Guild, a company of professional performers who present concert-staged readings of seldom seen musicals, will open its 14th season with the 1962 Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley musical: STOP THE WORLD - I WANT TO GET OFF. The opening performance will take place on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 7:30 PM at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale. A second, and final, performance will occur on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza's Scherr Forum.
